Marriage License Requirements

A marriage license is required and must be provided on the day of the wedding.

Marriage licenses can be obtained from any county clerks office in Florida and are legal internationally. Your license can be used to get married in any Florida county. All county clerk of courts require both parties be present and have a government issued ID’s i.e. drivers license, passport, military id., etc. to acquire a marriage license. (Even if you fill out the license application online through the court)

If either the bride or the groom have been divorced in the last 6 months, the divorce decree will need to be present at the time of the application.

 

No witnesses are required.

In the State of Florida, Notary Publics are empowered to perform marriage ceremonies.

Marriage Licenses must be obtained in Florida for the Notary to perform a ceremony.

Licenses can be obtained at any courthouse in Florida; you can get married with that license anywhere in the State of Florida.

Notaries can perform ceremonies with Florida marriage licenses in the State of Florida only.

Your marriage by the Florida Notary is legal worldwide.

What you need:

• Must be 18 years of age.

• Photo Identification is required.

• No blood test is required.

• No witnesses are required.

For non-Florida residents: No waiting period is required.

For Florida residents only:
Either a 3-day waiting period or a 4-hour counseling session is required.

If either party has been divorced in the last 6 months,
a copy of the divorce decree is required.

• The marriage license can be used any time within 60 days after date of issue.
